SHOW DATES: October 18th at 6PM, October 19th at 3PM
SYNOPSIS
You’ve heard of Peter Pan. You might even think you know the story—about a boy who can fly, about Neverland and pirates and Lost Boys and Tinker Bell. But you don’t know the real story because the man who wrote it all down wasn’t actually there. Wendy Moira Angela Darling, who was there, is about to fix that. She’ll show you what really happened to Peter’s shadow and how Peter learned to fly. She’ll teach you about Tinker Bell (who is meaner than you thought), and she’ll introduce you to a key character you’ve never heard of. To do this, Wendy is staging a play called The Neverland Project. Get ready to fly, because the best way to explain Neverland is to take you there.
CHARACTERS

WENDY DARLING
Gender: Female
Smart, self-aware, and responsible. A modern retelling’s anchor, Wendy balances imagination with skepticism. She acts as a narrator, truth-teller, and ultimately a maternal figure in Neverland.
MRS. DARLING
Gender: Female
Elegant and thoughtful. She literally “tidies up” her children’s minds each night, blending maternal care with magical realism. Protective but composed.
NANA
Gender: Any
The family dog, a loyal protector who can sense danger. Communicates through barks, but is clearly intelligent and emotionally perceptive.
HOOK
Gender: Male
The refined yet obsessive villain. Polished but dangerous, he’s haunted by the ticking crocodile and fixated on defeating Peter. A mixture of menace and theatricality.
NIBS
Gender: Any
A Lost One and self-proclaimed reader. Thoughtful and sweet, he’s attached to his picture book and forms a bond with Wendy over learning.
CLARA (THE SADDEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD)
Gender: Female
An older woman who once cared for Peter. Her melancholy is rooted in a lost maternal connection. Carries deep emotional resonance.
NEVERBIRD
Gender: Any
A large, ominous bird with predatory instincts. Acts as a lurking danger and symbol of wildness in Neverland.
CONSTABLE TURNER
Gender: Any
Skeptical but dutiful. Represents adult disbelief and rationalism.
M.C. CROWN
Gender: Any
A quirky believer who notices the extraordinary but struggles to convince others.
JOHN DARLING
Gender: Male
The dry-witted middle child. John is a fact-gatherer and interviewer, slightly sarcastic and logical, but also susceptible to wonder and excitement.
MR. DARLING
Gender: Male
Witty, a bit distracted, and more talk than action. He wants to be authoritative but is often unintentionally funny or unaware.
PETER PAN
Gender: Any
Charismatic, bossy, and deeply afraid of growing up. Still has all his baby teeth. He’s both charming and frustrating—magnetic but forgetful, playful but occasionally cruel.
SMEE
Gender: Any
Hook’s loyal first mate. Earnest, somewhat bumbling, and often humorous. Delivers sinister plans with surprising cheerfulness.
SLIGHTLY
Gender: Any
A Lost One with a “dark secret.” Impulsive and competitive, he frequently tries to be the hero in stories—often clashing with others.
MERMAID
Gender: Female
A teasing and possibly dangerous figure. Flirtatious and mysterious, mermaids in this world are not always friendly.
JANE
Gender: Female
Wendy’s daughter. Represents the next generation—her presence suggests the cyclical nature of the Neverland story.
COLIN WHISHAM
Gender: Any
Cranky and observant. First to see the flying children, though not taken seriously.
MICHAEL DARLING
Gender: Male
The youngest sibling. Innocent, joyful, and imaginative. Michael delights in flying and fairy tales, and he often says the most emotionally truthful things.
LIZA
Gender: Female
The family's ten-year-old maid. Young and observant, she’s a minor but humorously practical character who breaks the fourth wall.
TINKER BELL
Gender: Female
A full-size, mischievous, and jealous fairy. Tink is emotional, expressive, and loyal—though not always in ways that are helpful to others.
A.T.O.P. (ALL THE OTHER PIRATES)
Gender: Any
A single actor who plays multiple pirates. Each pirate (e.g., Barbecue, Noodler, Starkey) has a unique persona—ranging from sleepy to squeaky-voiced—but all are exaggerated and slightly absurd.
MISS
Gender: Female
A Lost One who “misses everything.” Kind, observant, and resigned to always being left out of the action. Deeply empathetic.
NIGHT 1-3
Gender: Any
Ensemble figures who populate dreams or transitions. May function as ethereal or symbolic beings in the narrative.
TRANSLATOR
Gender: Any
Serves as a comedic interpreter for Nana’s barks, adding humor and clarity in scenes involving the dog.
WILLA/WILLIAM MEEKS
Gender: Any
Precise and proud of it. Observes and reports strange happenings with exact time stamps.
